Sutton Under Whitestonecliffe Village Hall

A new building completed in 2009 after eight years of planning, fund-raising and a final significant contribution from the Big Lottery. It replaced a hall built in 1906 of corrugated iron and wood, which had served the twentieth century well, but by the twenty-first, had become unfit for purpose. The new building is a handsome addition to the Sutton streetscape and is environmentally friendly in every respect.

However the hall is really made by the people who use it. It is a registered charity, managed by a committee of volunteers and its constitutional aims are to cater for the social, educational, spiritual and recreational needs of the residents of Sutton and the surrounding area. To this end, the committee in 2008 also purchased the Old School building next door which is now available as a long term business let.
